It depends upon your business model, although you can generally say that SEO generates both business and business assets, whereas as soon as you stop spending on paid search you can disappear from the search engine results. Both provide essential new business acquisitions and can offer business many benefits.
Although there are some business models that do not require paid search and some that may not require SEO, most business models use a combination of both to grow their customer base.
